Homemade BBQ Sauce Recipe

1 cup ketchup

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)

Salt to taste

Combine Ingredients:

In a medium saucepan, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently.

Reduce Heat and Simmer:

Reduce the heat to low and let the BBQ sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Adjust Seasoning:

Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning according to your preference. Add salt if needed.

Cool and Store:

Allow the BBQ sauce to cool before transferring it to a jar or bottle for storage.

Use or Refrigerate:

Use the homemade BBQ sauce immediately or refrigerate it for later use. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
