Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the sugar, water, vanilla extract, salt, and ground cinnamon (if using). Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Add the pecan halves to the saucepan and stir to coat them evenly with the sugar mixture.

Continue to cook the pecans in the saucepan, stirring constantly, for about 5-7 minutes or until the sugar mixture thickens and coats the pecans.

Once the pecans are coated and the sugar mixture has thickened, remove them from the heat.

Using a slotted spoon or a fork, transfer the candied pecans to the prepared baking sheet, spreading them out in a single layer.

Bake the pecans in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and the sugar coating is crisp.

Remove the candied pecans from the oven and let them cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become even crunchier as they cool.

Once the candied pecans are cool, you can break them apart if they have stuck together.

Store the candied pecans in an airtight container at room temperature. Enjoy them as a snack, salad topping, or dessert garnish!
Candied pecans make a delicious and crunchy treat that’s perfect for snacking or adding a sweet touch to your favorite dishes. Enjoy!
