Ingredients:
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 pound ground beef
1/2 teaspoon salt
Ground black pepper (to taste)
Garlic powder (to taste) (optional)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
1 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 400Β°F (204Β°C). Grease a medium-sized (9-inch) glass pie plate with vegetable oil.
Heat a little oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sautΓ© the onions until soft, about 3 minutes.
Add the minced meat to the pot and loosen it with a spatula. Roast until golden brown, about 10 minutes. Trim excess fat from the beef and season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
Spread the cooked and seasoned beef evenly in the prepared pie plate. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the beef layer.
In a small bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix (or flour), milk, and eggs until well combined. Pour this batter over the beef and cheese layer in the pie plate.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
