Cheesy Beef and Bacon Pastry Roll

For the filling:
– 1 lb ground beef
– 1 small onion, diced
– 1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (optional)
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– Salt and black pepper to taste

For the pastry:
– 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

1. prepare the filling
In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain excess grease. Stir in garlic powder, barbecue sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Mix in crumbled bacon and shredded cheese.

2. assemble the pastry rolls
Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C). Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Spread the beef mixture evenly over each sheet, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the pastry tightly into a log.
