What do you prefer with Sausage Bredie…. Fresh white bread or rice?
My grandchildren and all my children just love sausage food or bredie. It just goes down so well with acha or a lekka chutney.

Ingredients:
600g sausage of choice cut into smaller pieces
2 tablespoon cooking oil
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 large onion, chopped
2 bayleaves
1 teaspoon salt or to taste
2-3 green chilles, chopped or more or less
4 potatoes, peeled and sliced into quarters
1 Tbsp of tomato paste, optional

Method:
Heat the oil in a big saucepan, over medium heat.
Sauté the onions in the oil until soft and golden brown.
Add bayleaves
Add the potatoes and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring often and adding bits of water to prevent the potatoes sticking to the pan and burning.
Add the garlic, salt, chillies, tomato paste and simmer a further 5 minutes or so.
Add the sausages and cook until the potatoes are completely soft.

Serve warm with white rice or fresh bread.
