How to Make Vanilla Sugar at Home

 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups granulated sugar (adjust quantity as needed)
  • 1–2 whole vanilla beans

Instructions:

  1. Split the Vanilla Beans
  • Using a sharp knife, slice the vanilla bean lengthwise.
  • Scrape out the seeds (also called “vanilla caviar”).
  1. Mix with Sugar
  • Add the vanilla seeds and the scraped pod(s) into a clean glass jar.
  • Pour in the sugar.
  • Seal the jar and shake or stir to evenly distribute the seeds.
  1. Let It Infuse
  • Store in a cool, dry place for at least 1 week.
  • Shake the jar every couple of days to mix and enhance flavor.

 Storage Tip:

  • Keep the jar sealed tightly.
  • It can last for several months and actually gets better with time!

 Extra Ideas:

  • Refill the jar with more sugar as you use it — the vanilla bean will keep infusing.
