Ingredients:
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
3 large bananas, sliced
1 cup pecans, chopped
8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Maple syrup for serving
Powdered sugar for garnish
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange half of the bread cubes in a greased baking dish.
Layer sliced bananas and half of the chopped pecans over the bread.
Top with the remaining bread cubes and pecans.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, pressing the bread cubes slightly to absorb the liquid.
Let it sit for 15 minutes to soak.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set.
Serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar.
