1 lb bone-removed chuck clip & cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 1/2 cup sliced carrot
1 1/2 cup celery sliced
2/3 cup chopped onion
1 pack pre-cut mushroom 8 ounces
2 tbsp beef base (this is different from beef broth it is a base that makes beef broth)
8-10 water cups
1 large laurel paper
1. Fry the brown beef in a non-stick frying pan until brown, stirring frequently.
2. Remove the beef from the pan and place in the pottery bowl, add the carrots, celery, onions, mushrooms, beef base, water, garlic and bay leaves.
3. Cook on high heat for 1 hour, add the pearl barley then stir down and cook until the vegetables and beef are cooked. Stir in salt and pepper.
4. Get rid of bay paper.
